Non-Christmassy TV
ITV's "Living Genius" is a four-part series discussing famous and
notable Midlanders. The episode of interest here will be broadcast on
14th Dec when the subject featured is The Arts. Apparently, they are
trying to work out if Roy (among several others) is a true genius.
Shall we tell them now or what?
(thanx to Lynn @ Useless Information)

2nd December 2004

Christmassy TV
The show mentioned just below... there, look... "Christmas Mania", will
be broadcast at 10pm for an hour and features the following line up...

Jamie Cullum New Year Baby
Katie Melua Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Ronan Keating Fairytale of New York
Il Divo Oh Holy Night
Clare Teal Winter Wonderland
Westlife White Christmas
Donny Osmond It's Christmas Time
Roy Wood I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day

Obviously, Roy & his Army are topping the bill! Don't know what happened to Cliff... maybe he's washing his hair that night.

Christmas TV
Roy will probably be all over your TV as is usual at this time of year. Here is the first confirmed show:
ITV's Christmas Mania on Saturday 11th Dec. Roy is in the somewhat dubious company of Cliff Richard & Donny Osmond along with a load of others.
Check back for more or if you know of any that Roy is mischievously keeping a secret from his own website (the little tinker), please let us know.

September 2004

A Sad Loss
Carl Wayne, former lead singer with The Move and more recently with The Hollies, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday 31st August 2004. Carl and Roy have been very close friends since childhood and shared many of their greatest musical projects together. At a recent gig on Saturday (4th Sept) Roy made a heartfelt announcement, dedicating Blackberry Way to Carl.

Useless Information!
We'd like to thank Starship Commander Fletcher for the following memo...

"Roy Wood is to open Derby City Libraries new Alvaston Library.
This library has been relocated to a new site on London Road, Alvaston, Derby. It is a major and immense improvement from the current Alvaston Library which closed on Saturday March 13th. The new Alvaston Library & Learning Centre will open on Thursday March 18th 2004 at 2pm with Roy Wood doing the honours!"

Roy has presumably been forgiven for his serious Library Etiquette offence in 1973, where he was caught ripping the pages which didn't mention him from the British Encyclopaedia Of Rock and blowing his nose on them. (He had a really snotty cold at the time). Consequently, he had his Library card confiscated and was banned from reading for 30 years.
Phew, rock 'n' roll, eh!!!
