ROY WOOD - OUTSTANDING PERFORMER
(Castle Music CMQCD447)

'Roy Wood – Outstanding Performer' is released in the UK on 10 November 2003 (Castle Music CMQCD447) but fans can obtain the CD RIGHT NOW before the official release date by ordering via the FTM Shop. Roy Wood - Outstanding Performer CD cover. Click here for more information.

Collecting 19 outstanding hits, rare cuts, b-sides and classic album tracks from the songwriters’ years with the Jet, Warner Bros., Cheapskate, Speed and Legacy record labels, this is the first time Roy’s material has been remastered from the original master tapes. Endorsed by Roy himself, the album features a fully illustrated colour booklet complete with rare and previously unpublished photos and memorabilia.

Roy is one of the elite few in pop history to have written, produced and sung on No. 1 singles with three different bands. He was dubbed “an English rock legend” by Billboard Magazine’s Jim Bessman in 2002 and his monumental career as one of the UK’s most outstanding performers spans thirty-five years and thirty hit singles. ‘Outstanding Performer’ brings together some of Roy's finest seventies and eighties recordings – many appearing on CD for the first time - and is a clear illustration of his limitless talents at the very peak of his career.

MOVE RADIO SPECIAL

BBC Radio London airs "The Move Special" on Saturday 30th August during Gary Crowley's show (6-8pm). Crowley and special guest Carl Wayne have a very candid talk about The Move and play take 1 of an unreleased Move song from 1967. Written by Roy Wood, "Don't Throw Stones At Me" is the only Move recording to feature Ace Kefford on  lead vocals. Roy sings backing vocals. The final version of "Stones" is planned for either the remastered expanded debut album or a box set. Look for a follow-up Move special at a later date, possibly November, with Carl and other members of the band. Tune in 94.9FM to hear "The Move Special", or visit Gary Crowley's BBC London website to listen live.

ELO 2 30TH ANNIVERSARY 2-CD LIMITED EDITION
(EMI 7243 5 43328 2 1)

Let loose into an unsuspecting CD shop near you on 31st March 2003

The second release in EMI's First Light Harvest remaster series celebrates the 30th Anniversary of "ELO 2" on 31st March 2003. Over 90 minutes of music, including rare and previously unreleased material, ELO 2 Slip-case cover. Click here to go to the FTM shop.all tracks have been remastered by Peter Mew at Abbey Road Studios under the approval and direction of Jeff Lynne.

Electric Light Orchestra's second album originally began life as a Roy Wood concept album entitled "The Lost Planet," but this was abandoned prior to recording. Even though unaccredited on the original album, Roy does appear on ELO 2, performing on two tracks recorded at Philips Studios during May 1972, playing cello and bass guitar on "From The Sun To The World" and "In Old England Town".

Also appearing on the album is The Move's original singer Carl Wayne on an unknown session recorded in February 1973 and only recently discovered. Carl sings lead vocals on three Jeff Lynne original songs, backed by ELO: "Your World", "Get A Hold Of Myself", and a new version of "Mama". Another highlight is an unreleased session ELO recorded with Marc Bolan (T. Rex) which includes a previously unreleased Jeff Lynne original song entitled "Everyone's Born To Die" (complete with Bolan lead guitar solo) plus early session versions of ELO songs "Ma-Ma-Ma-Belle" and "Dreaming Of 4000".

( We nicked the above from themoveonline.com cos we couldn't be arsed to write it ourselves. Cheers)
