Celeb - The Cast Member
Here's a couple of shots from Roy's brief appearance with Harry Enfield in "Celeb" broadcast last Friday. For those of you who missed it... the scene lasted about 30 secs with Roy as the main focus and the Synopsis is thus:
Gary (faded 70's rock star) is being blackmailed by a former groupie who was a fictional member of the (real life) Plaster Casters. Apparently, they went around sleeping with famous rock stars and making plaster casts of their most interesting body parts... OK, I'll whisper it... "willies". Anyway, she sends him the cast in a box but in Gary's case, his erm, "box" is somewhat lacking in size. The groupie threatens to send it to the press unless Gary meets her in Paddington Railway Station with a pay-off of £25 grand. As he does the deal, another "Rock Star" approaches carrying a similar box, obviously doing the same deal. Guess who??? Gary and Woody greet one another as old friends and a short exchange of words takes place. THE END!
Roy's "box" is very much larger than Gary's and he only agreed to play the part if this aspect was written into his contract. Roy would like it to be noted that all representations in this scene were true to life...

Many thanks to Jim Hoban for the screen shots

Harry 'n' Woody Go Even Larger
BBC 1 have announced that Harry Enfield's new show, "In Celeb" will be the flagship of their Autumn Season programming. Harry plays an ageing rock star, Gary Bloke with Amanda Holden as his wife. The series is based on a Private Eye cartoon strip and lampoons the rock music business. As previously mentioned on our fab, almost-up-to-the-minute News Page, Roy appears in one of the 6 episodes... precisely which one remains to be seen but you know how you love a bit of mystery! So eyes down and check out your TV listing guide.

Kevin & Woody Go Large! (possibly)
Keep an eye on Harry Enfield's new TV series. Apparently, the pair of 'em get "plastered" together. That's all yer getting at the moment... 'cos that's all we know! Except that its being filmed right now, so it could be a while before it appears on your screen. "That is sooo unfair".

Rock Legends
Carlton TV have made a new series of documentaries featuring "Rock Legends" from the Midlands, though this title may be pushing the boundaries of the trade descriptions act considering some of the artists concerned! Roy's programme will be transmitted this Friday 25th Jan at 10.50pm in Carlton's Central TV region and is certainly one of the more "Spektacular" episodes... watch it and see!
PS: Look out for selections from Martin Kinch's Famous Scrapbooks appearing in this episode in THE starring role!
